Put the AirDome in the bottom of the pot, cover it with substrate and then connect to an air pump. Oxygen is now supplied directly to the root zone, which improves plant development. 

To get the best performance from the AirDome, use a fluffy mix like a 50:50 ratio of coco peat and perlite.
