pH IN HYDROPINICS:
Plants can only use a nutrient solution if the is pH corrected. Different nutrients are absorbed at different pH levels so some hydroponic growers let their pH drift slightly, always toward alkalinity. In hydroponics, the ideal range for most plants is between 5.2 to 6.2, although some plants prefer extremes in acidity or alkalinity. It is always best to use pH water stabilisers when adjusting the pH of a solution. Always adjust the pH AFTER adding nutrients. Tap water is usually alkaline and the pH can range from 6.8 to 8.2, depending on the local water source.

WHEN USING THE pH MONITOR
We've pre-calibrated and checked the accuracy of your meter.
A new probe has to be 'run in', so always check your calibration every week for the first 4 weeks, then every 2 weeks and then at least once a month.
If you suspect the reading to be wrong, clean the probe and check the batteries.
Ensure to calibrate your meter frequently using pH7.00 calibration solution.
Keep the probe moist and clean. After usage don't dry your probe but put on the lid while the probe is still wet! If you see residue build-up on the probe, clean it gently with a soft toothbrush or tissue.
To prolong the life of your pH meter and prevent its probe from breaking because it was drying out, we suggest you consider buying a storage solution, or at least don't dry the probe before putting back on the lid.
The glass probe is delicate! Avoid dropping or hitting the rim of your reservoir or pot with the glass bulb.
We do sell spare probes for this meter if you broke yours... not all pH meters probes can be exchanged.
PLEASE NOTE: Comes w/o batteries
